Pastor Steve Davis

Steve Davis joined the Dayspring pastoral staff in September 1995 as the Children's/Christian Education Pastor.  In 1999 he was enabled to focus his energies on Children's Ministries when Dayspring hired a Young Adult/Christian Education pastor.  Over the next 6 years, Pastor Steve provided creative leadership in Children's Ministries while also lending supportive leadership in the areas of Drama, Men's Ministries and Small Groups.  In September 2005, Pastor Steve transitioned into his current role as Pastor of Discipleship & Outreach Ministries which enables him to focus energies in the areas of adult Christian Education, small groups, men's ministries, community outreach and drama.

Pastor Steve is married (Mary) and has two sons who are also married (Ryan & Krystin, Matt & Hannah).   He grew up in the country south of Delaware, Ohio and graduated from Olentangy High School. He attended Findlay College, graduating in 1981 with a BA in Religion/Christian Education.  Returning home while Mary secured her degree in Nursing, Steve worked in his family's florist and greenhouse business becoming Vice President and establishing a successful wholesale division within the company.  Having received a clear Call into vocational ministry, Steve left the family business in 1990 to attend Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul,Minnesota where he earned a Master's degree in Theological/Biblical Studies.  He was ordained as an Assemblies of God minister in 1999.

Pastor Steve was raised in a Presbyterian church, attended a Church of God affiliated college, a Baptist seminary and has served in a variety of pastoral positions in EUB/Methodist, Baptist and Assemblies of God churches.  Steve and Mary have been members of Assemblies of God churches since 1984.  He believes strongly in trying to fulfill Jesus' prayer in John 17 and proclaims Proverbs 3:5-6 as his life verse.  Pastor Steve loves the great outdoors, enjoys a wide variety of sporting activities and looks forward to any travel adventures that come his way!
